What is a mystery activity?
Our Mystery Picnic & Activity upgrade includes a surprise activity that's revealed on the day as part of your adventure.
Depending on availability, your mystery activity could include experiences such as mini golf, a workshop, a guided tour, a wildlife attraction, archery, axe throwing, an escape room, a smash room, a boat cruise, a train ride or another exciting local experience.
After booking, we'll ask about any injuries, health conditions, accessibility requirements or phobias to help ensure the activity is suitable for your group. If you'd prefer a specific activity, we may be able to arrange it for an additional fee.
What happens if it rains?

We have undercover picnic options available, allowing you to enjoy your Mystery Picnic Hunter Valley experience regardless of the weather.
Is the experience suitable for children?
Absolutely! The Mystery Picnic Hunter Valley is family-friendly and a fantastic way to explore the region together.
Families are welcome to book either the standard Mystery Picnic or the Mystery Picnic & Play package.
Children under 4 years of age can attend free of charge. We simply ask that you bring along any food or snacks they may need during the day. Children aged 12 years and over are considered adults for booking purposes.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Bookings for the Mystery Picnic Hunter Valley must be made at least 6 days before your preferred adventure date.
For example, if you'd like to book for a Sunday, you'll need to complete your booking by midnight on the previous Sunday.
What kind of picnic food will I collect?
You'll collect a variety of delicious picnic items from mystery locations throughout your adventure.
Depending on the day and participating venues, your picnic may include items such as artisan cheeses, charcuterie meats, antipasto, fresh fruit, nuts, salads, breads, savoury bakery treats, chocolates and other sweet delights.
The exact menu changes regularly, making every Mystery Picnic a little different.
Is the Mystery Picnic dog-friendly?
Yes — your furry friend is welcome to join the adventure!
The Mystery Picnic Hunter Valley can be made dog-friendly when booking any package that does not include the Mystery Activity upgrade.
Simply let us know when booking that you'll be bringing your dog, and we'll ensure all mystery stops and your picnic destination are suitable for four-legged companions.
